The routine full-body panel (blood count, fasting sugar and HbA1c, cholesterol, liver, kidney, thyroid and urine) with a total PSA test added for the prostate. It suits men who have decided, with their doctor, to include PSA in a yearly check.

  • Men with urinary symptoms such as a weak stream or getting up at night
  • Men with an enlarged prostate who want PSA with their yearly check

A package is a convenient bundle, not a substitute for a doctor's advice on which tests you need.

9 tests included (90 parameters)

Tests with their own page are linked, so you can read what each one measures.

How to prepare, and when to expect the report

Preparation

  • Fast for 10 to 12 hours before the sample; plain water is allowed, but no tea, coffee or milk. An early morning slot makes this easiest. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before.
  • Take regular medicines with water unless your doctor says otherwise; diabetes medicines are usually taken after the sample, with breakfast.
  • If you take thyroxine, give the sample first and take the tablet afterwards. Stop biotin supplements for 48 hours beforehand, as biotin can interfere with hormone tests.
  • For PSA, avoid ejaculation and vigorous cycling for 48 hours before the test.
  • For the urine test, give a first-morning, midstream sample in the sterile container we provide.

How should I prepare for the PSA part?

Avoid ejaculation and vigorous cycling for 48 hours before the test, as both can raise PSA. Postpone it for at least six weeks after a prostate biopsy, and tell us about any recent urinary infection or catheter.
