Vaccination and injections in New Town

For children

Vaccines for babies and children following the schedule recommended by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. Bring the vaccination card so the doctor can see which doses are due.

For adults

  • Influenza (flu), once a year
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • HPV (cervical cancer vaccine)
  • Pneumococcal (pneumonia vaccine)
  • Rabies, after an animal bite or before exposure
  • Tetanus and Tdap boosters

Injections at the clinic or at home

If your doctor has prescribed an injection, such as a course of antibiotics, a vitamin B12 injection, or a tetanus shot after a cut, our staff can give it at the clinic. For patients who cannot easily travel, we can also give it at home in New Town and nearby. Bring or show the prescription; the medicine can be bought at our pharmacy. Do I need an appointment for vaccination?
It is best to call first so we can confirm stock and the right time, especially for babies.
Can the paediatrician check my child at the same visit?
Yes. Book with one of our paediatricians, who can review growth and give the due vaccines.
What if my child has a fever on the day?
Tell the doctor. A mild cold usually does not delay vaccination, but the doctor may postpone it for a high fever.
When should I get the flu vaccine?
The flu vaccine is given once a year. It takes about two weeks to work, so many people take it before the winter flu season. It is especially advised for older adults, pregnant women, young children and people with diabetes, heart or lung disease. Ask our doctor if it suits you.
Who can get the HPV vaccine?
The HPV vaccine protects against the virus that causes most cervical cancers. It works best when given to girls and boys before they become sexually active, usually from 9 years of age, and adults can also take it on a doctor's advice. The number of doses depends on age.
I was bitten by a dog or cat. What should I do?
Wash the wound with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes straight away, then see a doctor the same day. The doctor decides whether you need the rabies vaccine course and any other treatment. For a deep or bleeding bite, go to a hospital emergency department.
