How to prepare, and when to expect the report
Preparation
- Fast for 10 to 12 hours before the sample; plain water is allowed, but no tea, coffee or milk. An early morning slot makes this easiest. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before.
- Take regular medicines with water unless your doctor says otherwise; diabetes medicines are usually taken after the sample, with breakfast.
- If you take thyroxine, give the sample first and take the tablet afterwards. Stop biotin supplements for 48 hours beforehand, as biotin can interfere with hormone tests.
- For the urine test, give a first-morning, midstream sample in the sterile container we provide.
Home collection
Home blood sample collection across New Town, Rajarhat, Chinar Park and Salt Lake, with slots from 7:30 AM. Free home collection near the clinic; for longer distances only the bike-taxi fare is added, told to you before booking. Do I need to fast for the Vital Screening Package?
Yes. It includes a lipid profile, so fast for 10 to 12 hours beforehand, with plain water allowed. Book an early morning slot.
What tests are included in the Vital Screening Package?
7 tests: CBC, Lipid profile, LFT, KFT, TSH, Urine routine, Fasting sugar, reporting 84 parameters in all. The price is ₹799.
Does the Vital Screening Package include HbA1c?
No. It checks fasting blood sugar only. If you have diabetes or prediabetes, or your fasting sugar has been borderline before, choose a package with HbA1c, such as the Smart Full Body Checkup, or add HbA1c to this one.
Why does it check only TSH and not T3 and T4?
TSH is the usual first-line thyroid screening test. If it comes back outside the expected range, your doctor can add T3 and T4 or a full thyroid profile.
